Prevalence and development of sarcopenia using whole-body gold-standard and regional measurements and malnutrition in neurological patients during inpatient rehabilitation.
The aims of this study were to 1.) assess the prevalence and evolution of malnutrition and sarcopenia in patients undergoing neurological rehabilitation throughout the rehabilitation period, with measurements at baseline, 3 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months or three days before discharge using current gold-standard screening and diagnostic measurements. 2.) to evaluate the concurrent criterion validity of regional sarcopenia measurements (index test) and whole-body sarcopenia measurements (gold-standard) in neurological patients.
